Unleashing the Power of Collaboration: Housing Provider Bield and tenants Revolutionize Digital Care
In a groundbreaking project, a Scottish housing provider and its tenants are joining forces to develop and adapt technology aimed at enhancing digital care. Alice Bayne and Peter Paton, tenants at Bield's West Port development, have become "Champions" for the Technology for our Ageing Population: Panel for Innovation (TAPPI) project. With the goal of enabling tenants to live independently for as long as possible, TAPPI aims to improve the use of technology in housing and care for older individuals.
Thanks to funding, Bield has been able to trial and adapt a range of devices, apps, and systems, with Alice and Peter playing a crucial role in co-producing and testing the technology. The project has already shown promising results, providing peace of mind to tenants and improving their everyday lives. With co-production as a key principle, Bield is actively involving both staff and tenants in developing digital services that support independent living.
The success of the project has led to plans for expansion, including the inclusion of couples in future technology trials. The Bield Tech Hub, a dedicated space for testing and feedback, is open for stakeholders to experience the digital care advancements of the future.
Tours of the hub can be booked here.
